Its located south of the city of Merida, 15 Km. over the 50 th street. This population is communicated with Tahdzibichen and Dzununcan. Currently its building is destined to house The Center of Agropecuarian Technological Bachelors.

This Hacienda belonged to the Mrs. Eugenia de Regil Rodriguez, in 1962 she sells it to Andres Calero Garma, who some time later divides it in two inheritances: Xmatkuil and Haltunchen. In 1977 the casque of Xmatkuil hacienda passes along to be property of CAPFCE.

The edifice of the ex-hacienda represents the vestiges of an age of esplendor in the state of Yucatan. Framing its entrance we find a pair of pilasters that conducts us towards the ample hall way of green spaces, next to the old colonial building that held the hacienda's main living quarters.

Xmatkuil is one of the haciendas that belongs to the ecological preserve of Cuxtal that is most reknown, for the terrains that were of it once, are now used for the realization of the most important cattle fair in the state, "La Feria Yucatan", (The Yucatan Fair), celebrated in the mont of November, and in it, natives and strangers alike can find a great array of products, diversion, and events that evoke our traditions.
